The Laundry List of Ways Railroads Win with Supply Chain Diversity

What is happening? 40 years ago, Union Pacific was the first Class I railroad to implement supplier diversity program

Why is this important? Now it looks to expand that base because a diverse supply chain adds:

  •  new products, services and solutions
  • promotes innovation
  • an investment in the very communities
  • promotes local job creation
  • this supply chain spending better reflects the communities we all live and work

How will this be important? Even within a diverse supply chain, the company can identify areas where it can do better such as with more Latinx and Black suppliers
