22% increase in Coal Generation

What’s happening? In the past year electric generation from coal has increased 22% , with high demand from the Pacific and Asia. In contrast 2020 was a 50 year low for coal.

Why is this important? Coal is stably priced

How will this be important? With continued supply chain interruptions and inflation, stable prices become alluring. Energy Information Administration does not expect long term growth.
