Amendments to shifting data center costs to consumers

Virginia Governor has suggested amendments to legislation that seeks to prevent Virginias for bearing the cost of data centers.  Senate Bill 253 and House Bill 1393.

The amendments “strike out the explicit cost shift mechanism in the bills, preventing the capacity and distribution infrastructure costs from being placed on the high-load customers.” Negotiations are ongoing with policy maker support for data centers paying their fair share.
