Anatomy of an Atlantic OffShore Wind Project

What’s happening? Massachusetts Governor is proposing $750 million in ARPA funds be put into clean energy and pull back strict pricing requirements on procurements to further offshore wind development by repealing a 2016 price cap, and move procurement power from utilities to the state oversight agency.

Why is this important? The state wants to be a leader in offshore wind. It currently has 1600MW of offshore wind generation, soon to add another 1200 MW, and this final funding pushing to add an additional 1000 MW.

How will this be important? Lousiana is looking to do the same in the Gulf and as we’ve talked about has taken actionable steps to move that program forward.
