Energy & Water
What is happening? 165,000 residents and businesses in Odessa Texas lost water when an aging water main broke. The City reacted quickly and informed its residents that ““I want to assure you that we’re utilizing every resource at our disposal to ensure that we get this community back to the way it was before this massive line break,” City Manager Michael Marrero. The City also began providing drinking water.
Why is this important? According to an Odessa resident, “I just hope that they kind of learned we need to get in there, we need to check these lines and repair those that show signs of age and wear and tear.”
How will this be important? Lessons for other local governments to learn
