What will HB 18-1270 do?

• requires regulators to establish rules for investor-owned electric utilities to procure energy storage systems
• requires rules to be based on:
  • an analysis of costs and benefits
  • grid reliability
  • reduction in the need for additional peak generation or transmission capacity
  • restricting energy storage size to 15 MW
