The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission  passed new regulations that will:

• Allow local governments to consult with energy companies on well locations, storage tanks & other facilities
• Generally no local ordinances are permitted on well locations, storage tanks or other energy facilities.

The result of these new regulations:

• local governments are not pleased
• land owners are not pleased
• oil & gas is not pleased because the new regulations go further than task force recommendations. 

What’s the next move in Colorado:

• Supreme Court has pending cases on local fracking issues
• Colorado has initiative and referendum which may push the issue to the voters
