Background: In 2013 styrofoam was banned in chain restaurants, the 2018 proposal expands the ban to all eateries

Opponents, the New York State Chemistry Council Group​ say:

• “studies that show polystyrene is not a health hazard, not a carcinogen”
• costly to businesses
