North Carolina Bill: Remove Free EV Chargers

What is happening? HB 1049 (2022 | NC) would prohibit free EV chargers unless a free gas & diesel pump was located next to it. The bill also pays for the EV charger removal at $50K a charger.

Why is this important? Free EV chargers are apparently harmful to those who don’t need them…?

How will this be important? As out there as this sounds, the concept is to protect oil and gas. Know any states where leaders want to protect the oil and gas industry?
