The Supercritical Transformational Electric Power Demo pilot plant

The Southwest Research InstituteĀ is piloting power generation via CO2 sequestration. When CO2 is acting like a liquid, in gas form, the movement of the CO2 can pass through equipment, like blades on a wind turbine, to generate electricity. By the end of summer 2024, the carbon-powered turbine will produce 5 MW of power.
