The Texas Public Policy Foundation commentary, is it time for the political fall of renewable energy?, says the reasons for a YES are:

• Taxpayers & the “electricity tax”. Because “in October electricity generators and wind industry representatives asked the Texas PUC to approve a $4B/year tax”
  • Since 2006, renewable generators in TX have received $18 billion 
• Subsidies. renewables cannot be eeconomically sustained with subsidies.
• The Nature of Renewables is that they are “unreliable, inefficient, and expensive sources”
