Water bill veto rational

Water legislation that passed a legislature unanimously was vetoed. Let’s dig in. SB872 would have shored up aging levees and protected vital water infrastructure from flooding and sinking land. The veto reasoned that money is appropriated in the budget making the bill unnecessary. The bill’s supporters say the budgeted funds are inadequate based on the state’s Delta Stewardship Council.
