Bills to Clarify what that Recycle Triangle Means

What’s happening? The California Legislature is moving a bill that would ban companies from using the arrows symbol unless they can prove the material is in fact recycled in most California communities, and is used to make new products. SB 343 (2021 | CA)

Why is this important? The recycling triangle can be printed on items that as a whole are not recyclable. That means companies that process waste operate at 80% efficiency at best because more than 1/5 of the materials in their possession are not recyclable

How will this legislation be important? California would be the first in the nation to pass this legislation
