BLM Effect: Alabama Constitution Reform

What’s happening?  Joint Interim Committee on the Recompilation of the Constitution  of the Alabama Legislature, made up of people from Alabama, recommended removing racist language from the state Constitution.

Why is this important? The edits will include language related to slavery, the poll tax, segregation and Brown v. Board of Education.

How will this be important? Let’s think of texas where language in the Texas Constitution could be used to provide an exception to Obergefell v. Hodges.
