CA Voters + Sports Betting

What’s happening? CA will have its voters decide on sports betting in 2022. Under the initiative, sports betting would be permitted at at tribal casinos and horse-racing tracks. It is estimated to bring California some $1 billion in gross annual revenue without online betting. 

Why is this important? The initiative was written by California’s tribes who succeeded in a gaming expansion in 2008, in a $115 Million ballot initiative.

How will this be important? Meet the  Coalition to Authorize Regulated Sports Wagering & The California Gaming Association says it does nothing to “advance sports wagering”.
