Confidential Non Profit Contribution Disclosure Reversed

What’s happening? NY regulators had determined that donors to non-profits should be disclosed, and then the Legislature reversed that decision.

Why is this important? The disclosure came about with a budget amendment that required political advocacy nonprofits, filed as 501(c)(4) tax-exempt organizations, to submit financial disclosure reports if they’ve spent more than $10,000 in communications endorsing or opposing legislation

How will this be important? Dark Money. should it be fixed? should there be disclosures? Is the reversal in NY telling?
