Lege Trend: No Property Taxes on Newly Built Homes

North Carolina Legislature passed a tax break for home builders– No property taxes for homes that have not sold. Builders caught a break and lowered their tax burden. 

The promoted goals for the tax break:

• the tax break lower builders’ overall costs
• the tax break will increase construction
