Finance & Revenue
What is happening? Chicago’s mayor wanted to lease public housing land to the Chicago Fire. City Council voted against it. Then City Council reversed it and the practice field shall be built on the public housing land.
Why is this important? Some may say, no surprise, welcome to Chicago.
How will this be important? Revenue, baby. They say the land use changes and deal for the Fire will bring in $8 million and $750,000 to $800,000 per year up to 40 years.
