National Reform of City Fines and Fees

What is happening? Cities and Counties for Fine & Fee Justice formed in 2020 with 10 funding members to  reform their use of fines and fees

Why is this important? This year these cities have joined: Chatham County, Georgia; Jefferson County, Alabama; Miami-Dade County, Florida; Washtenaw County, Michigan; Wilmington, Delaware; Kansas City, Kansas and surrounding Wyandotte County.

How will this be important?  Local government fines and fees disproportionately impact residents who are low income and people of color.
