Numbers Behind Los Angeles Co. 3 Year Guaranteed Basic Income Program

What is happening? L.A. County is starting it’s new basic income program that will  provide universal basic income of $1000 per month for 3 years for participants. Meet Breathe: LA County’s Guaranteed Income Program.

Why is this important? Participants will have to meet income requirements and will be randomly selected from the applicant pool. Funding will be from government and philanthropic groups.

How will this be important? The guaranteed income program in Stockton, CA showed that employment rates increased for participants.
