On the ballot: taxing healthcare services

This November Missouri voters will consider whether the state should move forward with taxing medical services. The tax is backed by the Republican Legislature and Governor. The tax would include doctor visits and prescriptions.

How did Missouri get here? There is a push to repeal the state income tax and replace it with an expanded sales tax that will add a tax to things that are currently exempt like healthcare.
