State Pension $400 M to Sustainable Investing

What is happening? The $247.7 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund has committed approximately $400 million to two funds. This follows its Sustainable Investments and Climate Solutions (SICS) Program. $300 million to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners . $100 million to Excelsior Energy Capital’s inaugural fund, the Excelsior Renewable Energy Investment Fund I.

Why is this important? NY State Controller set a goal of transitioning its portfolio to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040
