Private equity “has proven so toxic” that Connecticut lawmakers want to limit private equity. Private equity has operated state services like public education, public housing, childcare, health care, and nursing homes.
The results displease law makers who point to “neglect of patients, cuts in staffing, increased rents and inadequate maintenance.”
Senate President Pro Tem said private equity in “essential public services is “dangerous and toxic as a matter of public policy.”
