Tax Incentives for Kansas to Land World’s Largest EV Battery Facility

What is happening? Kansas is said to have extended $892 million in tax incentives to lure Panasonic to build a $4 billion battery facility that will be the world’s largest.

Why is this important? The tax incentives include: $234 million in payroll rebates; investment tax credits; help with training and education costs; and a sales tax exemption for construction 

How will this be important? Kansas beat out Oklahoma which offered a  $698 million incentive package earlier this year
