A U.S. attorney in Washington State was sworn in at 7:40 a.m. and fired by text at 8:34 a.m. Why? Federal statutes allow federal district judges to appointment U.S. attorneys when a president fails to make a nomination. The Trump administration has fired two such U.S. Attorneys that were properly appointed under current federal law.
