Tobacco Taxes. Banning Single use Tobacco and Cannabis.

What is happening? California is considering Assembly Bill 1690,  which prohibit the sale of single use tobacco and cannabis.

Why is this important? Supporters include coastal conservationists who are concerned about the cigarette butts and plastics from single use smoking products.

How will this be important? Some see the legislation as an end run against statewide smoking bans.
