Where: North East Oklahoma City, an area where more than 1/2 the population is Black

It had been 22 years since the area had a new grocer

The partners for the project:

  • Homeland, will operate an employee owned grocery store
  • $300,000 Funding from a Social Impact Fund,  Metafund
  • Alliance for Economic Development—a private nonprofit—is lining up about $8.5 million through the New Markets Tax Credit program
  • $3.5 million in tax increment financing from Oklahoma City
