53 hours from CEO Tweet to Firing.

What’s happening? The CEO of Tripwire, a software gaming company, tweeted “…affirming the Texas law banning abortion for babies with a heartbeat…” 53 hours later he was fired.

Why is this important? The responses ranged from boycotts, to delisting their software. To a focus not on his pro-life message but that he used his CEO account to tweet the pro-life message when the bill includes bounty hunter provisions. Co-development patterns canceled contracts.

How will this be important? Just need to look at the company’s response: “His comments disregarded the values of our whole team, our partners and much of our broader community. Our leadership team at Tripwire are deeply sorry and are unified in our commitment to take swift action and to foster a more positive environment.”
