Anti-DEI proposals = micromanaging

In a recent SEC filing by Apple, that addresses a conservative think tank’s quest to undo Apple’s DEI initiatives, Apple states that the anti-DEI  proposal “inappropriately attempts to restrict Apple’s ability to manage its own ordinary business operations, people and teams, and business strategies.”

Is this like the business version of helicopter parenting or micromanaging?
