Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA): 

IRMA is a certification program that measures the performance of industrial-scale mines against its Standard for Responsible Mining. The certificate is used for multiple industries seeking increased transparency within their supply chain. 

What Led to the Move?

The industry pivot to electric vehicles requires products such as cobalt and lithium but these materials are often produced in dangerous or illegal mines in conflict-ridden countries.
