Consumers/employees expect CSR more than companies realize

What employees/customers want: 

  • 59% of consumers expect companies to take a stand on climate/environmental issues
  • 64% of millennials won’t take a job if the company doesn’t have a strong social responsibility program – millennials will make up 3/4 of the workforce by 2025

What companies think: 

only 22% of employers think employees look for philanthropic efforts in the workplace

Why it Matters: It is an obvious disconnect. Employers are late to the CSR game and will not be able to recruit and retain the best talent. They will also lose customers to companies with a focus on purpose.
