Corporate Giants Commit to Climate Action Before Davos

What is Davos?

Davos is the location of the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting where business leaders and government heads use the media spotlight to highlight major sustainability announcements.

Corporate Giant Announcements:

  • Nestlé: 
    • commits to all recyclable or reusable packaging by 2025
    • invests $2 billion in the development of sustainable packaging solutions
  • Microsoft: 
    • commits to remove all carbon it has created by 2050 and will be carbon negative by 2030
    • invests $1 billion into a climate innovation fund
  • BlackRock: 
    • joins the Climate Action 100+
    • exits investments in thermal coal producers
    • sent a letter to investors describing climate change as a defining factor in companies’ long-term prospects
