Dallas Catches Up with Other Large TX Cities, Requires Apartment Recycling

The local ordinance:

Dallas requires landlords to make trash recycling available for tenants of apartment buildings  with 8 units or more

Background:

Dallas adopted a “Zero Waste” goal in 2013. Because more than half of Dallas residents live in apartments this ordinance will affect a lot of the population and a large volume of trash.

Most other large cities in Texas adopted apartment recycling years ago.

Concerns:

Texas Campaign for the Environment is concerned the law will not be enforced.
