Deere Shareholders support DEI

Remember when we talked about how John Deere walked back DEI a few months ago? Well, one group saw an opening and it did not go their way.  A conservative group, National Legal and Policy Center, brought an anti-DEI proposal to John Deere shareholders which was rejected handily. 200 million shares to 2.8 million shares.

What was the proposal seeking? Proof of discrimination against “white employees.”

Why? The conservative group ” described concerns over corporate hiring practices, citing a Bloomberg report that only 6% of the 300,000 jobs added by S&P 100 companies in the year following the death of George Floyd went to White men.“
