Diversity in Home Ownership

What is happening? In 2020, the number of home owners increased. Overall homeownership rose in 2020 to 65.5% but fell to 43% for Black home owners

Why is this important? 2020 was the largest annual increase on record

How will this be important? In 2010 Black home ownership was 44%. In contrast current home ownership rates are  white (72.1%), Asian (61.7%) and Hispanic (51.1%) To address this racial homeownership gap, National Association of Realtors, the NAACP, the National Urban League, and other are working with the Black Homeownership Collaborative to improve home ownership diversity
