What’s happening? McDonalds is being sued by 77 Black former franchisees, part of the company’s solution is a diversity franchisee program.

Why is this important? McDonalds is committing $250 Million and 5 years to lower the equity needed to become a franchisee.

How will this be important? “The fast-food giant said Asian, Black and Hispanic owners represent 29.6% of its U.S. franchisees, while women account for 28.9%.” The company wants to increase access to capital and thus increase recruiting efforts for underrepresented entrepreneurs
