How Construction Industry is Handling Diversity & Inclusion

What’s happening? After George Floyd’s tragic death, racist incidents at construction sites were more noticeable.

Why is this important? To address these issues a panel of construction industry leaders say:

  • make small manageable changes in diversity and inclusion
  • get comfortable being uncomfortable
  • company culture starts with your managers, so hold your managers accountable

How will this be important? The industry is 10.9% women, 30% Latino, 6% black and 2% Asian and there’s apparently a lot of nooses left around construction sites. This is a growth opportunity in the new economy.
