Meet the Drones that Clean Waters of Plastic Debris

What is happening? To keep plastic from making its way into the ocean, Dutch company RanMarine operates aquatic drones called WasteSharks that capture plastic in the water and bring it back to land.

Why is this important? Each drone can hold hold 160 litres of trash before retuning to shore.

How will this be important? Once the plastic hits the ocean it breaks into pieces and ultimately microplastics, which are incredible difficult to remove from the ocean
