Outdoor Retailers Boycott Expo in Utah

What is happening? Retailers REI, Patagonia, Timberland, North Face, and Public Lands are boycotting the Outdoor Retailer Tradeshow if it is moved to Utah because of Utah’s attacks on public lands.

Why is this important? It is a response to the reduction of the size of national monuments like Bears Ears under the Trump Administration. Those federal protections have been restored but the state continues an attack on public lands.

How will this be important? Outdoor Retailer Senior VP: “Our chief goal is to host a vibrant event that not only reflects today’s new normal, but also presents an engaging event that draws as many as possible into this community in ways that are authentic and affordable.”
