Pension Divests from Fossil Fuels

What is happening? A large global pension system, ABP,the Dutch pension fund for civil servants and teachers, is selling its €15bn-worth of holdings in fossil fuel companies.

Why is this important? The pension set a policy to “no longer invest in producers of oil, gas and coal”

How will this be important? The fund says it will have no impact to returns as it moves fossil fuel investments to electricity companies, the car industry and aviation where it is anticipated that the pension will push sustainability.
