Poll: Are women treated fairly in the US?

What’s happening? Gallup released a poll on the treatment of women in the U.S. Here we go with this ball of fun:

  • 53% overall Americans are very or somewhat satisfied with the treatment of women in society (A RECORD LOW)
  • overall 44% of women are satisfied
  • overall 61% of men say women are treated fairly
  • 33% of women say they have equal job opportunities
  • 61% of men think women have equal job opportunities

Why is this important? As a writer who was interviewed said,  “It’s not only that women aren’t treated well. Sometimes we’re invisible,”

How will this be important? The deviations among women will be telling:

  • 46% of white women said they were satisfied with women’s treatment
  • 38% of Black women agreed
  • 43% of Hispanic women agreed
  • 72% of Republican women were satisfied
  • 32% of Democratic women

Washington Post | U.S. women are largely dissatisfied with how they’re treated. Most men don’t see a problem.
