Social Impact
In your reporting, are you including the “social return on investment” (SROI)? Your SROI more comprehensively measures the overall impact of investments. SROI improves program management through better planning and evaluation, increases your business’ understanding of its effect on the community thereby facilitating better communication regarding the value of your work.
Maybe SROI is the new “it” factor. There’s a great interview by Tyler Twellman, of the Real Salt Lake Coach Pablo Mastroeni about the unquantifiable it factor of certain players. He explains that when players have that certain something it elevates a team beyond their data- goals, wins, etc. Every business needs to define and characterize their IT Factor, the je ne sais quoi, the SROI.
