Clean Economy Act

The bill lays out a plan for the U.S. to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions no later than 2050. The E.P.A. will be responsible for implementation.

Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairman Tom Carper (D-Del.) and other Democrats

The House version:

The U.S. House released a broader bill (600 pages) detailing efforts to reduce emissions but the Senate version has more support including environmental and labor groups as well as the business community.
