What: South Carolina’s Sami Law making its way to Congress to help ride share riders better identify drivers.

The bill: H.R.3262 – Sami’s Law (116th Congress)

• mandates scannable QR code on ride share vehicle windows matching the one on the rider’s smartphone
• requires illuminated signs visible day and night from about 50 feet away
• prohibits the sale of signs with company logos to drivers not employed by the ride share companies
