Regulatory TREND. No EV Tax Credits for EVs over $60K

Where: California

What the regulatory limits were placed on EV credit? California Air Resources Board clarified the EV tax credit to:

  • shift support from wealthy buyers to low- to moderate-income drivers
  • not allow credits for vehicles over $60,000
  • not allow credits for vehicles with less than 35 mile range
  •  use of the Urban Dynamometer Driving Schedule to calculate the all-electric range of plug-in hybrids
  • only one rebate per lifetime of individual or business

How does this regulatory change match with legislation? It rejects calls for EV credit expansion like, AB1046 (2019 | CA)
