Tariffs tough on trucking

The American Trucking Association says proposed tariffs on Mexico and Canada will impact the trucking industry. The Association’s President says ““The 100,000 full-time hardworking truckers hauling 85% of the surface trade in goods with Mexico and 67% of the goods traded with Canada will bear a direct and disproportionate impact.”

Other impacts: the cost of new trucks will go up by at least $35,000. 85% of goods from Mexico are transported by truck, and 67% from Canada.
